This innovative program is enabled through Health Canada’s Special Access Program (SAP), which allows patients with serious or life-threatening conditions to access therapies not yet widely available.
If you are a veteran who has tried standard therapies without success, this may be an opportunity to find new hope.
You may be eligible if:
You are a Canadian veteran, age 18 or older.
You have a diagnosis of Treatment-Resistant Depression (inadequate response to at least one antidepressant trial at an adequate dose and duration).
You are willing to apply for access through Health Canada’s Special Access Program (we will guide you through this process).
You are medically and psychologically stable enough to participate in psilocybin-assisted therapy, as determined by clinical screening.
Applicants with co-occurring conditions such as PTSD, generalized anxiety disorder, or end-of-life anxiety may also be considered, but Treatment-Resistant Depression must be present for eligibility.
You may not be eligible if:
You have a personal or family history of psychosis or bipolar I disorder.
You have uncontrolled medical conditions (e.g., serious cardiovascular disease).
You are currently pregnant or breastfeeding.
You have an active substance use disorder that would interfere with treatment.
You are unable to provide informed consent or commit to study procedures.
